Need Your Help ~ Sock Drive!

2nd Grade Brownie Troop 40483 invites you to donate to the Girl Scouts of imagesGreater Chicago and Northwest Indiana’s Sock Drive! Our goal is to collect 500 pairs of socks to donate to local shelters.  Help us earn our “Sock Angel” badges.  NEW socks for men, women, and children are needed.  Donations will be accepted now until December 8th.  Send your donations to Frank C. Whiteley with your child or drop off at our box in the front hallway of the school office.  The Brownies will be happy to collect them!

Holiday Gift Shop is Coming!

The wishlist and money for the approved items must be returned the following day. Look for more details after Thanksgiving.

PTA Summer Letter 2016

Dear Whiteley Families,

It is hard to believe that the school year is almost here. Even though we are still out enjoying those last vacations and days

at the pool, I wanted to provide everyone a with a summary of our accomplishments. Te PTA was busy all year and we thank each and every one of you who volunteered your time, shared your talents and supplied your donations. We couldn’t have done it without you!

As was promised during our October Fundraiser, we wanted to share with you where those profits benefited your school and most importantly your KIDS. In addition to the general budget items that come up each year, we were able to fund the following major activities listed below. We hope that you see what an incredible impact your efforts have on Whiteley, and that you know how much they are appreciated by both the students and staff.

Your efforts have made possible:

  • A Number of Diverse Assemblies
  • Teacher Appreciation Food and Gifts
  • Books for One School, One Book
  • MultiCultural Night
  • Over 5000.00 in Teacher Classroom Supplies
  • Kindergym
  • Reflections Projects
  • 6th Grade End of the Year Activities
  • A Variety of Educational Field Trips
  • Creature Feature Fish Tank
  • Field Day
  • Green Day
  • Popcorn Tursdays
  • Back to School Picnic and Ice Cream Social
  • Chess Club, Book Club and B.E.A.R.
  • Bingo Nights
  • Moms and Muffins and Dads and Doughnuts
  • Community Outreach Projects

This is just a sampling of how your money improves the learning environment for the kids and the teachers! As you can see, it takes a lot to fund all these programs and events and we could not have done it without your support.

Here is our current committee chair list. While we are looking for some volunteers to chair committees, it also has contact information for people who have already agreed to serve as chairs. You can’t have a committee with only a chair. These individuals would appreciate any help you could provide to their committee. Don’t hesitate to contact them and see how you can be of service.

Overall, it was been a productive year, and we are looking forward to this year being just as great. We hope you and your kids enjoyed everything that you attended this year. With your help, we can ensure Whiteley will flourish for years to come.
